New Experiment May Show How Helpful Blogging and Social Media Marketing Really Are

Wendy Piersall wrote about a project or experiment by Jennifer Laycock (from Search Engine Guide). She and Abigail Munday are going to see how well their experiment site can do without the search engines…YES, without them. They have blocked all indexing by the search engines for bentoyum.com and will only rely on the following:

• Referring site links (they have one from me now and one from Wendy Piersall & anyone else who discusses this)
• Social media
• Blog search engines
• Social bookmarking

The results of this experiment will be very interesting and very important. Jennifer Laycock has enough experience with the search engines and gaining high rankings and increasing sales, but if relying on the above bulleted items shows that blogging and social media produce the same kinds of results life could change for everyone. Additionally, SEO will become more affordable.

I have discussed how beneficial blogging had been for my businesss. Typically, (before blogging) I had waves of work and most of that came from word of mouth through clients, but since I started blogging my business life has turned into a whirlwind.
