Out of all the meetings I have had the last few weeks one thing keeps repeating and I think it is important to share with you the things we evaluate before creating an Internet Marketing plan for a client. Your website is your foundation. It is like the concrete foundation of your house and is therefore critically important. Obviously your site needs to be planned out (and so does your optimization) because this will support all of your Internet Marketing ventures.
Your online marketing options are important, but you need to have a plan…a strategy. Some things to consider before creating your plan.
- How are online marketing options going to help your business?
- Which online marketing options will really help your business?
- Does your website support your marketing strategies?
- Have you thought out all the factors or researched before creating a strategy?
- Do you have the infrastructure in place to complete this strategy?
- Did you create a strategy that will be good for those in your industry or those you are selling too?
- Do you need to waste time on social media options that will not work for your business?
- Have you evaluated your competitors’ strengths and weaknesses?
- Have you evaluated your strengths and weakness?
- Reputation management…how can your Internet Marketing compliment your reputation management?
These are just a few things to consider, but I think if businesses took some time to think about these before jumping into an Internet Marketing plan they could avoid some costly mistakes. Also, if you are working with a company or consultant that claims they are an “Internet Marketing Expert” you should determine whether or not they have considered any of the above (and much, much more).
