Why doesn’t search query data in Webmaster Tools appear to match what I see when searching?

Even after watching the video a bit confused lol. On my sites I have noticed quite a bit of difference between what appears on webmaster tools and what appears on my actual search engine rankings when I do a search. For instance, a newer website of mine (less than a month old) says that it should appear on page 5-6 yet appears on page 10 when searching with google…not that i can complain because it is a brand new site but still a bit odd – interesting video and at least gave me a little bit of insight and know now that others have the same issue – thanks for the post.

Eric, I posted this video for the same reasons you describe. With all the variables people can get different results at home than they do at work. It varies by location and so many other things.

Good on-site and off-site SEO gives most people the results the want. Real estate is much more difficult.
